May 29, 2012 is the date the justice of the Republic of the Philippines died!

I was very disappointed with how things turned out yesterday.

Corona being convicted only means that Noynoy already controls our justice system; that, our justice isn’t independent anymore. Personalan kasi lahat eh. Well, duh. Tignan mo ung mga nag-acquit, sila talaga ung matatalino! Hindi sila takot kasi alam nila ang totoo. Hindi ako magugulat kung ang susunod na gusto iimpeach ni Noynoy ay si Defensor.

For three years, ito palang ang nagagawa ng presidente natin.

3 years ng walang ginagawa si Noynoy, may 3 years pa siyang natitira. Tandaan, mapapalitan na ang senado kaya kanya-kanya silang pabanguhan ng pangalan.

Meanwhile in the Histopath Lab.

Everytime we remove the paraffin wax off the cassettes, it would be play time. Hahaha we would dip our fingers in the melted paraffin and allow it to cool. Phidz dipped his thumb so the mold was quite big. He dipped it again so another layer appeared. We then laughed because it was so close to the appearance of a penis. Hahaha we shaped it better by making adjustments. Penis and testicles. hahahahaha

There was this headline that was really interesting, “Babae, 5, dinaliri ng 18 anyos.” Hahahaha Soooo we took a picture of our model and the newspaper. :)))

Manila Rat.

Yesterday, May 15, 2012, my thesis group had a meeting from 11am-1:30PM. Afterwards, Kevin, Jane and I decided to go to Harrison Plaza near Taft ave to buy House DVDs. It was a very long jeepney ride. When we were there, we had a hard time looking for DVDs because nagtatago sila. There was this corner na parang tiangge and when we were asked what we were looking for, we said DVDs and the saleslady talked to us. We were whispering as if we were buying drugs. HAHAHA After that, we went to Taft Ave to buy some milk tea, spent some time resting and then left Taft at around 4:45-5PM. Took us about 1 hour before I arrived home (6PM). Took bath immediately because I can feel the pollution on my face. I was starting this new episode when a friend of mine called at 7PM and told me that we are to go to Gateway for Kenneth’s birthday dinner. I took a bath again, ate dinner and then left. Gateway was closing when we arrived at 8:45-9PM so we (Kenneth, Jane, Bob, Alex, Red and I) decided to go to Boni High. We ate dinner at BonChon, dessert at Sonja’s then tambay. Kanya-kanya kaming bayad. Hahaha! Arrived home 1:20AM.

Mode of transportation for the whole day: public transpo - jeep, lrt 2, mrt, bus, taxi.

Everytime it’s around 3 to 4 in the afternoon, we would end up making more fun out of each other; non-stop laughing. We decided to take some pictures. :) Also, we found Hayden Kho’s picture and grades during his internship in USTH anatomic pathology (where we are assigned hahaha). The first two pictures show us, group 1, in the patho lab. The third is in Joe Monkey; we decided to hang-out there after duty. Surprisingly, my friend, Migo, from highschool was also there (the last pic) so we spent some time catching up. I showed him my labgown labeled “Albano, A.M.D.” His friend was shocked and said, “doctor pala siya” Hahaha oh stop it you :”> :))))

Salamat, Doc!

One of our patients said that to me. I was shocked and thrilled so I said, “Salamat din po!” It was such a nice feeling to be called as such. Because of our internship and the show House, my will to be a physician someday strengthened. Hahahaha Mom, if you are reading this, please continue. :)) A medtech processes the specimens that the pathologists will read under the microscope, make the final diagnosis and then the findings will be given to physicians for proper treatment of patients. I want to be just like them, to diagnose and treat patients. My brother even said, “Why do you want to watch blood-blood (he meant House hahaha)? You can just google ‘how to be a doctor’ You know, google knows everything!”

How I wish everyone, EVERYONE, could benefit MUCH from health insurances. I was slightly depressed awhile ago because there was this woman begging us to sign the clearance form so that they could go home already. Apparently, Lola (the one who talked to us) had a relative admitted to USTH CD (this division is not that expensive). In order for them to leave the hospital, they had to ask different departments of the hospital to sign the clearance. One department is Anatomic Pathology where I am in. She was almost crying while telling us that she can’t pay the amount required for us to process her relative’s specimen. Blah Blah Blah.

My point is, if everyone has health benefits, life would be much easier. And by health benefits, I meant, FULL health benefits. If I’m gonna be rich someday, one of my priorities would be this concern.

Last Tuesday, May 8, I got a call from a friend around 4 in the afternoon. He asked where I was and if I was free to go with them to Tomas Morato that night for dinner with friends. I said yes! Kenneth and I met somewhere and then we went to their new house in V.Luna area to pick up Redentor and Alex. After a few hours (2 hours I think) since I left my apartment, we arrived in Tomas Morato. We ate in Army Navy. Before, while and after eating, we talked so much about our internship. Sobrang daming kwento! Ang saya-saya kasi iba-iba kami ng nashashare! Stayed there for three to four hours I think? Hahahaha Decided to go to Gong Cha to buy their house special wintermelon milk tea! Stayed at Il Terrazo for another 2-3 hours before heading home.

Everybody enjoyed that night. :D As the saying goes, mabuti pa ang biglaang lakad, natutuloy. :))

We never admit our feelings to others because admitting them means admitting how we really feel to ourselves. And admitting leads to assuming and Assuming can lead to two paths—The path of heartbreak and the path of happiness. This can leave us with no choices and having no choices entails risks. And taking risks may mean getting hurt. So we hide our feelings and we end up waiting. Who can blame us? Who can blame YOU? Humans are built to survive, it is but natural for us to avoid things that may hurt. That, my friend, is why you can’t admit directly your feelings for that person. Because if you do, you think it’ll hurt more if you consider your feelings. Mas madali ang ganito diba? Pag nasaktan ka na sa huli, pwede mong sabihin that you didn’t when you did. Survival. Yan yun. Also, admitting and submitting to your feelings makes you vulnerable. And being vulnerable can hurt. A lot.

Living the dream.

Today was my first day as a CD assist. The afternoon was very exciting. One of the specimens was a whole breast with a tumor that already deformed the breast. It was so huge, 3/4 of the whole breast. “Bulbuous” was the description. It looked like a collection of bumps that collided with each other. (There were no pictures taken; we were’t allowed.) The next and most awesome was the SCROTAL ABDOMINAL MASS. It is a mass found from the scrotum to the abdomen. It can be divided into two. The scrotal mass is as big as an adult head, may even be larger than it. The abdominal mass is wayyy larger than the scrotal mass. It was huge humongous! We can’t weigh it using a simple weighing scale so the resident patho, 3 med interns and I went to the morgue! I was extremely excited because I really want to be in an autopsy team. Hahaha! In the morgue, I saw the apparatus that contained the corpses. There was also a room, used to be a classroom (na parang pang horror movie hahahaha), that have a metal and marble autopsy tables. There was also a huge weighing scale; we used that to measure the scrotal abdominal mass. IT WEIGHED 7.1kg!! We went back to the lab to finish the report. Almost everyone was there watching the patho. The patho had a really hard time cutting the specimen because it became hard due to formalin. We had fun examining it. Hahahaha hope more specimens like these will come during my time as an assist! :)
